Sheriff's Records Clerk
This position is a fast-paced job which involves processing Sheriff's
reports, providing information from local, state and national systems to
officers and other agencies, and entering information into these systems. Clerks
develop knowledge of the various laws, procedures and policies necessary to
perform their tasks. This is a 24 hour/7day a week operation and clerks are
assigned to eight hour shifts. Call the records section at 454-2242 and ask the supervisor further questions

Minimum qualifications

Must be 18 years of age at time of appointment.

Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the U.S.

One year of experience in general office clerical work that would provide the
required knowledge and abilities. Formal secretarial or general office clerical
training may be substituted for up to six months of the required experience on
an hour for hour basis. Type accurately at a moderate rate of speed.
Disqualifying factors

The commission of a misdemeanor or felony amounting to conduct which would
reflect adversely on the candidate's ability to perform as a Sheriff's record's
clerk within the last three years.

Classification as a negligent operator under the Department of Motor
Vehicle's "point count".

Any pattern within the past three years of non-payment of debt.

Any incorrect misrepresentation or deletion of a fact material on an
application.

Any verbal misrepresentation or deletion of a fact material to background
investigator.

Conviction of a felony.
-
Personal History Statement which includes: work, legal, driving, financial,
and drug possession histories.
Salary
$3,149 to 3,981/monthly
