Professional Standards/Training

The Professional Standards and Training Section of the Detention Bureau is responsible for all mandated and special training required for all Correctional staff, as well as for the maintenance of personnel and training records, reporting of Detention Bureau statistical data, and coordination of the Correctional Training Officer Program.

This section coordinates approximately 50 classes every year and ensures the Bureau is in compliance with state-mandated continuous training requirements for Detention Bureau employees. The section works closely with the County Personnel Department during the process of hiring Detention Bureau personnel, a process that includes recruitment, interviewing, and background investigation.
