Sheriff's Office Mission Statement Operations Bureau The Sheriff's Office is composed of three Bureaus: the Operations Bureau, the Detention Bureau and the Administration Bureau. The Operations Bureau provides the services to the unincorporated area of Santa Cruz County that citizens are most familiar with: patrol and investigation. These services are provided by two divisions, the Patrol Division and the Investigation Division. PATROL DIVISION
This four-shift rotation allows for overlapping coverage during those hours when calls for
service are the most demanding, primarily from 9 p.m. to 2
a.m. A Sheriff's Sergeant is assigned to each shift. The
Sergeant directs the activities
of the shift and coordinates enforcement assignments in
