Soquel/Live Oak

The Soquel/Live Oak Sheriff's Service Center is staffed by Sergeant Todd Liberty and a crew of volunteers.  The Sheriff's Center serves a large area in the central part of our county, including the Summit Area, the townships of Soquel, Live Oak and Davenport and their surrounding areas. 

The Live Oak Service Center is located at 870-B 17th Ave., Santa Cruz, CA 95062. The phone number is (831) 464-6230. Volunteers operate the station from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

The Summit Service Center is located at the Loma Prieta Fire Station and is staffed by volunteers Monday - Friday.  The phone number is (408) 353-9581.

The Sheriff's Service Center provides a variety of services to the area that we refer to as a district. Those services include: Neighborhood Watch presentations and organization, vehicle abatement enforcement, follow up of non emergency missing persons cases, reporting of non-suspect crimes, neighborhood mediation, educational public presentations in response to inquiries, bicycle registration, and referrals to appropriate agencies for matters not serviced by the Sheriff's Office.

We divide this workload among several folks in the Center.  If you walked into the Soquel/Live Oak Sheriff's Center, the first person you would meet would be a Sheriff's Volunteer.  Volunteers are members of the community who commit four hours a week answering phones, writing non-emergency crime reports, forwarding calls to the other bureaus and divisions of the Sheriff's Office, answering  questions, working with Sheriff's Investigations on neighborhood surveys, assisting with vehicle abatement enforcement and with project and program development (such as taxi cab administration and bicycle licensing and registration).  Volunteers also help coordinate community events.  Many volunteers choose to work more than four hours a week, as they find this work rewarding, interesting and fun.  We are always accepting applications and would welcome your interest.
