Deputy Sheriff Training

All required training is arranged and paid for by the county.

Deputy sheriff trainees complete a 22 week P.O.S.T. approved law enforcement academy. The academy is non-residential. Upon graduation trainees are promoted to deputy sheriff and complete a 16 week training program.

Deputy sheriffs receive 10 hours of in-service training every month. Opportunities for selected or elective training are also available.
