Deputy Sheriff Salary and Benefits

Deputy Sheriff (Trainee): $ 5,359.47 to $ 7,141.33 /monthly
Deputy Sheriff (Lateral): $ 5,621.20 to $ 7,141.33 /monthly

Night Shift Differential - 5% of salary.

POST Intermediate Certificate - A differential of 3.00% above the employee's base hourly salary rate

POST Advanced Certificate - A differential of 4.00% above the employee's base hourly salary rate

Detective Pay - 5% of top step salary for deputy sheriff

Training Officer Pay - 5% of base pay

Bilingual Pay - Level I @ $.50/hr., Level II - $.70/hr.

Vacation - 1 to 5 years=86 hours, 5 to 10 years=126 hours, 11 to 15 years=166 hours, 15+ years=206 hours.

Sick Leave - 96 hours per year.

Health & Dental Plan - County paid Dental plan for employee and dependents. County pays majority of health plan.

Retirement - Deputy: 3% at age 50 plan; employee pays 9% contribution on a pre-tax basis.

Life Insurance - $50,000 term life policy for employee, paid by county.
