Correctional Officer Salary and Benefits

$ 3,983 to 5,281 /monthly

Night Shift Differential - 5% of salary.

Bilingual Pay  - 

  • Level 1 (speak second language): additional $0.50 per hour;
  • Level 2 (speak, read, and write second language): additional $0.75 per hour

Certificate Pay -

  • Intermediate Certificate: additional 1.9% of salary;
  • Advanced Certificate: additional 3.5% of salary;
  • Supervisor Certificate: additional 4.5% of salary

Training Officers receive an additional $0.75 an hour.

Holidays - 6.5 % of base pay in lieu of holidays.

Vacation  - 

  • 1 - 5 years = 2 weeks per year
  • 6 - 10 years = 3 weeks per year
  • 11 - 15 years = 4 weeks per year
  • 16 + years = 5 weeks per year

Tuition reimbursement up to $500 per fiscal year.

Sick Leave - 96 hours per year.

Health & Dental Plans - County paid Dental plan for employee and dependents. County pays majority of health plan.

Deferred Compensation - A Deferred Compensation plan is available.

Retirement - 2% at age 50 P.E.R.S. Retirement Plan. Employees pay the 9% employee contribution on a pre-tax basis.

Life Insurance - $50,000 term life policy for employee, paid by county.
