Press Release:

 

On Monday, 6/30/2008, Santa Cruz County Deputies arrested Willis Arthur Bailey, owner of Bailey Construction, for possession of illegal fireworks, manufacture of illegal fireworks, improper storage of fireworks, manufacturing explosive devices and possession of more than one ounce of marijuana.

 

Deputies, as part of a combined task force with Aptos La Selva Fire, targeting illegal fireworks, served a search warrant at the residence of Bailey after information was received that he was possibly selling and storing illegal fireworks at his residence, 125 Petery Lane in Aptos Ca.

 

The search warrant resulted in the seizure of over 1,543 lbs of fireworks and fireworks making materials.

     

 

It was determined through investigation that Bailey had been involved in this activity for several years.

Footage of the seizure can be obtained on Tuesday July 1, 2008 from approximately 0930-1130 hours at Aptos La Selva Fire Station on Soquel Drive just south of Cabrillo College.
