Crime Maps Disclaimer:
The symbols identifying crime approximate the locations where reported incidents occurred. Only unincorporated areas where the Sheriff's Office provides services are represented. For information on crime in a particular city not serviced by the Sheriff's Office, contact the police department of that city. In addition, the State of California requires that official statistical crime reporting comply with the Uniformed Crime Reporting (UCR) standards established by the U.S. Department of Justice. These standards exist to allow consistent reporting of criminal activity among the varied laws of the 50 states. The statistics on the map pages, however, are derived directly from raw Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) data and may not fully comply with UCR guidelines. Despite the potential for discrepancies between UCR statistics and raw CAD data, the raw data is used here because it generally provides a more detailed view of crime in the county.
