Work Release, Bookings, DNA Collections

Non-Custodial Services including Work Release, Out-of-Custody Bookings, 
and Out-of-Custody DNA collections are available at the Work Release 
located at the Santa Cruz County Main Jail at 259 Water Street, Santa Cruz, 
(831) 454-2434.

Non-Custodial Services hours are 8AM to 3PM Monday thru Friday, except holidays.

Work Release Program

The Work Release Program allows individuals meeting certain criteria to serve 
their sentences through the performance of community-service work projects. 
If the Court has recommended you for Work Release you may apply for the program 
to determine if you meet the program criteria established by the Sheriffs’ Office. 
Participants pay a one-time $52.00 application processing fee and $10.25 for 
each day of the sentence. 

Out-of-Custody Booking

If a law enforcement agency or the courts have advised you that you are required 
to be booked at the jail even when you are not in custody you may complete the 
booking process without an appointment during business hours.

 Out-of-Custody DNA Collection

 If a law enforcement agency, the Probation Department, or the courts have 
advised you that you are required to submit a DNA collection sample you 
may complete the collection process without an appointment during business hours.
