Inmate Telephone System
The
Sheriff’s Office contracts with Public Communications Services, Inc. (PCS)
to provide easy-to-use inmate calling services at affordable rates. The following
calling options are available:
1.
Collect Calls – Inmate places a collect call which is accepted
and paid for
by the called party.
Note: Inmates
cannot place Collect Calls to cell phones, business phones,
or numbers that are blocked from
receiving collect calls.
2.
Prepaid Calls (Daily Dial) – Prepaid
call accounts are set up by an end user
to eliminate the problem of collect call blocks.
Inmates can place prepaid calls
to cell phones, office phones, hospitals and other commercial phone numbers
that normally do not accept collect calls.
When an inmate calls the end user,
the call charges are deducted from the called party’s prepaid account.

can quickly and easily set up an account by:

Note:
PCS allows a ONE TIME,
ONE MINUTE Complimentary FREE CALL between
the inmate and the called party when the number that the inmate is trying to
call is
blocked from receiving collect calls.
3.
Debit
Calls – Inmate purchases debit phone
time through commissary
or family and friends make purchases on www.mycarepack.com.
Phone time may be purchased in $5 and $10 increments. Debit calls can be
placed to cell phones, business phones and international numbers.
Note: PCS offers inmates a
flat rate of 0.25 cents per minute to place
Debit Calls anywhere in the United States. Debit calls to Mexico are at
the low rate of $1.00 per minute.
Refunds
- Upon release, refunds for unused phone time must be requested
directly from PCS. Refund cards
stating where the refund should be mailed
are available to inmates upon request.
Blocking / Unblocking Numbers: You may
have your number blocked so
that inmates at the Santa Cruz County Jail facilities cannot call your number.
You may also unblock your phone number.
